Falstrault
Jennifer Falstrault is a first-chair trial lawyer with nearly three decades of courtroom experience. She has exclusively practiced matrimonial and family law throughout her career. Guided by a client-first philosophy, she is committed to helping clients define their objectives and achieve meaningful results in the face of litigation.
Jennifer has resolved hundreds of matters through negotiated settlements, including marital settlement agreements, separation agreements, prenuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, and other tailored arrangements. After years in the family law practice area, she understands that an agreement not only requires careful and thoughtful drafting but also collaborative work and practical judgment to finalize the deal. Successfully negotiating agreements can be both an art and a science, and it's a skill Jennifer is particularly proud of.
Jennifer's experience includes high-net-worth divorce matters that often involve complex valuation, tax, income, and asset tracing issues. For years, she has collaborated with financial experts to prepare matters for mediation and litigation. She has tried cases involving complicated business and asset appraisals — even successfully settling such issues mid-trial after presenting her evidence.
Jennifer brings broad knowledge and trial experience to custody and parenting matters as well. She guides parents through some of the most taxing and heart-wrenching circumstances they will face, counseling them on how best to approach and resolve issues privately and with dignity. She has litigated and tried cases involving legal and physical custody, parenting schedules, relocation, grandparent visitation, non-parent custody, and supervised visitation.
Jennifer has favorably argued family law matters before the New Jersey Appellate Division. She has also lectured on family law at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (Yeshiva University) and for CLE provided by the New York State Bar Association. She served as faculty for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' three-day intensive program, providing practice insight to CPAs during their training as expert witnesses in business valuations.
From 2017 to 2026, Jennifer has been selected for inclusion as a “Best Lawyer” by Best Lawyers in America.* She also was the most senior matrimonial partner at Kasowitz LLP when it was recognized as a Tier 1 “Best Law Firm” in Family Law, New York City, by U.S. News – Best Lawyers® from 2021 to 2025.
Jennifer is a member of the State Bar Associations of New Jersey and New York, as well as their Family Law and Trial Lawyer Sections.
